About Loyal and Living
Post 1104:
I’m a habit guy. Some say obsessive-compulsive, but what does a team of highly adept medical professionals know? Basically nothing, am I right?
When I find something that works or that I like, I became loyal. Loyal sounds good. Sounds like a characteristic to be proud of. Only, too loyal becomes another thing. It becomes boring and monotonous and one-note. Gross.
I try to consider this in my writing. There are methods and styles that are standard go-to tactics because they work and I find comfort and enjoyment in working in that space. On the other hand, it’s nice to go someplace new every once in awhile. Maybe a setting that makes you expand your descriptive skills or a character unlike any you’ve ever created before. Find a new way to address the audience.
It’s like trying out new restaurants. Most of the time you’ll never go back, but every so often you get another spot added to the list. Same with writing. Changing it up is how you stay living and loyal at the same time.
Cheers and see you after.
