About Mismanagement
Post 1128:
There are people who can stick to a schedule like champions. Not this guy. I doubt many artistic types excel at this. Something about timetables and management—it’s not exactly artful.
For me, the question isn’t to put in work. Of course you should. If you really want to do this, that cloud (sometimes happy and sometimes dark) should be hanging over you. Creating is probably in your blood, after all, if you’re the type that actually finishes.
Some don’t finish. No big deal. I suspect those that do go through some serious mismanagement at one point or another in the process. This dereliction of worldly priorities can take many forms. You forget to shave for a week. You don’t text your mom back. Maybe you take a day off of work that was supposed to be used for that trip to Mexico. Oh freaking well.
If you’re feeling it, them’s the breaks. Steady is good, but drive and inspiration are better. And here’s some news—bursts don’t last all the time. If they did, you’d wither away with your creations until there was nothing left but a once-promising husk.
When the wind is at your back, however, ride that shiz. I really want to say something about sailing but I won’t. Go forth and mismanage. I hope it works out beautifully. Cheers and see you after.
